12-21 Watchlist

Well Boehner and the rest of the elected politicians did it again, causing a flash crashof sorts in the futures market after they pulled the vote on the Plan B: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2012-12-20/futures-flash-crash-es-plummets-limit-down . It’s almost like DeJaVu with the debt ceiling fiasco last summer. The impasse then caused a 4%+ sell off in one day, followed by a nearly 15% drop in a matter of days. Hard to say what happens now, but I am mildly optimistic things wont get as bad this time and we bounce into the weekend. Also remember today is quadruple witching meaning all the option contracts expire today... usually a day with higher volatility.

Here are some of the Analyst upgrades/downgrades today:

(AAPL)

Apple customer service undervalued, says Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo believes that investors are underappreciating the value of Apple's customer service advantage compared with its competitors. The firm think that the recent sell-off in Apple's stock is overdone, and it maintains an Outperform rating on the shares.

(FFIV)

F5 Networks initiated with an Outperform at FBR Capital

Target $120.

Nike downgraded to Neutral from Buy at Janney Capital

Janney downgraded Nike citing valuation. Price target is $110.

(NKE)

Nike price target raised to $115 from $106 at UBS

UBS believes Nike's better than expected Q2 report sets the stage for accelerating EPS growth. The firm said North American futures accelerated and China futures indicate the worst has past. Nike is the firm's top apparel/footwear pick. Shares are Buy rated with a $115 price target, raised from $106.

(RIMM)

Research in Motion stock drops on conference call comments, says Citigroup

Citigroup notes Research in Motion shares sold off last night after it became clear on the earnings conference call that RIM will receive much lower rates on its highly profitable services. Citi says Research in Motion's services will materially and structurally shift lower with the new BB10 products. The firm recommends not chasing the stock and keeps a Sell rating on the name, despite raising its price target to $6 from $5

I plan on waiting a few minutes after the open before pulling the trigger on any bounce plays:

Stock Ticker Call/Put Strike Expiration
ISRG CALL $495.00 weekly
AAPL CALL $515.00 weekly
NFLX CALL $92.50 weekly
NKE CALL $105.00 weekly
FFIV CALL $97.50 weekly

Today is VERY risky so please trade carefully. It is quite possible I may call it a day early today.

Lets have a great trading day!

12-18 Watchlist

First off, the site is moving quickers as we upgraded our server, but we did have some temporary issues so apologize in advance for any troubles accessing the site. Now on to the fun:

What a great start to the week as a few of the plays on watch from last week continued to ramp higher, and others started their advance. SAM continues to move, marking its 3rd consecutive day of gains closing right near the high of day on huge volume. SODA finally broke the $43 resistance on amazing volume as well with NO NEWS. Seems to be more optimism on this fiscal cliff fiasco getting resolved so futures are solid green. If you were in the chatroom or on the week ahead class you heard quite a bit about japan and the oncoming currency wars coming in 2013. The clowns on tv are still talking about QE, and I think that term will be replaced by another coined phrase in regards to currency. We shall see.

Going forward I will try to include meaningful upgrades and downgrades, most from fly on the wall.

Here are todays:

GS (GS)

Goldman Sachs upgraded to Positive from Neutral at Susquehanna

Susquehanna believes Goldman is well positioned to benefit in fixed income from potential rising rates due to a fiscal cliff resolution and expects the company to gain share in FICC due to reduced competition. Price target raised to $149 from $127.

AMZN (AMZN)

Amazon.com price target raised to $300 from $250 at RBC Capital

After conducting checks, RBC Capital believes that Amazon.com's investments in fulfillment centers could begin to slow in 2013. The firm maintains an Outperform rating on the stock.

AAPL reiteration from BofA : (AAPL)

Apple sell-off on supply chain concerns overdone, says BofA/Merrill

BofA/Merrill believes the sell-off in Apple due to supply chain concerns is overdone and that valuation is at trough levels. The firm trimmed estimates but notes supply chain adjustments are common and recent supplier production cuts come after peak production ramps and double ordering. Shares of Apple are Buy rated with a $720 price target.

Here are the positions I am looking at for open:

Stock Ticker Call/Put Strike Expiration Closing Price
CMG CALL $305.00 weekly 0.45
SINA CALL $52.50 weekly 0.21
MON CALL $92.50 weekly 0.13

I kept saying CMG would break out last week but that never happened. Yesterday was the start of what I think is a 2-3 day run for CMG over $300. Still love SINA for bounce over 50, and MON to $93 or so this week.

Lets have a great trading day!

12-5 Watchlist

Yesterday was another great day in the chatroom with NFLX, SODA, SHLD, AAPL, and others making folks some nice $$. Days like these are not common so please don't trade like the next one is going to be a 10-100 bagger or trade outside your risk level. It's also very easy to risk more as your account goes up, but that can lead to bigger losses. Either way, hope you made some $$ and looking forward to a great week.

I am still VERY bullish on SHLD breaking out and hold 45 weekly calls. I still like SODA as i think folks are just starting to jump on the bandwagon. I sold enough of my 82.50 NFLX calls to sleep easy last night, but still hold quite a bit more, and added 100 calls near the end of the day @ .25 just in case.

Futures are up nicely as Chinas rally has helped lift the markets. We shall see how todays trade goes, but I think we continue to be somewhat rangebound or higher.

Options I am looking at to enter today:

Stock Ticker Call/Put Strike Expiration Closing Price Entry Price
SODA CALL $50.00 JAN 0.75 0.75
SODA CALL $52.50 JAN 0.50 0.50
VRA CALL $35.00 JAN 0.25 0.25
LULU CALL $80.00 DEC WKLY 0.30 0.30
LULU CALL $85.00 JAN 0.56 0.56

I still love SODA and locked in some of my lower strike calls, will get some higher JAN calls for possible continued move to $50+. Want to position for LULU earnings as well and the calls are even cheaper today, didnt pull the trigger yesterday. Like VRA after the bell, but did get killed by it last time i played so be wary!

Lets have another great day!!

12-3 Watchlist

Welcome to December! Looks like we will start the morning in the green as futures are up. China had some more decent numbers overnight and the concerns of China's economy coming to a crashing halt seem to be fading. Christmas Elf Tim Geithner  was on the Sunday Morning talk shows trying to alleviate "Fiscal Cliff" fears. If you read the watchlist every morning you would know my thoughts, that we melt higher into the end of the year. I give it a few more days before we start hearing "Santa Rally" instead of fiscal cliff.

We have some big movers this morning on upgrades and news articles: DECK is trading over $42 PM on an upgrade, LULU is trading over $73 on an upgrade, DELL is up 4% on an upgrade as well. Others to watch are RIG and LMCA, which were covered in Barron's.

UPB had a great week ahead class last night, and the link for the video will be available sometime today. I know Biglots was his big play, as well as DMND.

My watchlist today is light, as i am a little fearful of a gap and trap. Please don't trade any text alert expecting the same results as last week.

Stock Ticker Call/Put Strike Expiration Closing Price Entry Price
SHLD CALL  $45.00 DEC WKLY 0.36 0.36
SHLD CALL  $49.00 DEC MONTHLY 0.42 0.40
NFLX CALL  $90.00 DEC WKLY 0.32 0.30
WYNN CALL $115.00 DEC WKLY 0.62 0.40
LNKD CALL  $115.00 DEC WKLY 0.20 0.15

I like SHLD for a bounce sometime this week, hopefully starting today so will try and grab some weeklies. Once i get weeklies will look for some monthlies. Of course you know NETFLIX is one of my favs still. I grabbed 87.50s on friday afternoon and will look to get some 90s today.

WYNN may move on Macau #'s out today, and I am waiting for LNKD to finally start to head towards $120. I dont like the bottom two as much an those are mostly on watch and will probably not get any today.

SODA looks great at the open today so hoping for more follow through.

Lets have a great trading day!!

11-29 Watchlist

Another great day yesterday, as the market rallied off market lows and finished strong. Futures are solid green as I write this, even with some big #'s due out that include GDP and jobless claims. I said it in the chatroom yesterday that I tend to tune out the noise so I really dont pay much attention to those numbers. I think the recent market action points towards the $150 SPY target I have been talking about, and will stick to that until something changes.

We have sent ou a couple text alerts in the last few weeks since the service started, and looks like we have hit paydirt with GOOG. Here is what the text alert said:

GOOG looks to be turning and underperformed vs other techs. Could have a nice 5% move in th next 3 days meaning the 695 Wkl calls@.25 could be a nice 10 bagger

With GOOG near 690 here PM, those calls should be near $1.50-2 at open, they closed at 1.15. Figure they hit 2.50 today, that is a 10 bagger. This means you can trade 9 other option plays with the same capital, have them expire worthless, then buy these GOOG calls an recoup all your losses. Why we love options!

Some other great trades yesterday with GMCR, SODA, DECK, AAPL, ARO, GDX, and WYNN. There were many more and sorry if i left some out.

Still think the market holds its ground today and works its way towards $143+ on the SPY by close tomorrow. Anyone doubting what UPB or myself has been saying for months only needs to read this article in the WSJ where it spells out exactly what th fed has been doing since QE1... FORCING FOLKS into equities... : http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887324784404578145541490348884.html

Will have more in a post i have been working on for the last 24 hours. OptionMillionaires mentioned on Marketwatch this morning : http://blogs.marketwatch.com/need-to-know/2012/11/29/6-gut-checks-before-the-open/

Also there is a class on friday at 2pm by Chris D: https://www.optionmillionaires.com/2012/diamond-members-webinar-on-thursday-yearly-and-cyclical-stock-seasonality/

Here is what I am looking to add today:

Stock Ticker Call/Put Strike Expiration Closing Price Entry Price
TRLG CALL $29.00 DEC 0.25 0.25
WYNN CALL $115.00 NOV WEKLY 0.15 0.15
NFLX CALL $85.00 NOV WKLY 0.39 0.35
SODA CALL $45.00 JAN 0.40 0.40

TRLG has some big interest so should see a move back over $30. Still like WYNN to touch and break $115. $NFLX is poised to make a move to $85+, and I love $SODA here for a continuation. Stay tuned to chat for more updates.

Lets have a great day!!
