Wednesday Rant and Recap 2-18-15

Markets gyrated between gains in losses today but a sharp end of day spike landed stocks into positive territory at the close.  In the afternoon the minutes were released from the last FED meeting.  Conclusion?  Patience.  Over six years into unprecedented Central Bank action and record high stock prices, the FED remains cautious.  Patient.  The Zero Percent Interest Rate policy of 2008 will remain in place for a lot longer.

The action remains rather muted, subdued, quiet, relaxed, the perfect environment for stocks to grind higher.

Wednesday Recapus Meritus 2-4-15

Today's trading action deserves an ESPN like Recap.

He throws it deep, he makes an incredible catch..... wait..... it's  ruled incomplete by the official.

Today's recovery off the lows?   same result... incomplete.  The official judging the action today was none other than the ECB.  No funding for you!  Will it be the correct call?  Unfortunately in this game of asset price manipulation and currency devaluation, there is no instant reply.

It appears the stench from Greece, like a rotting sewage pipe, will continue to linger on, with nary a plumber in sight.  I'm not sure you want to be long the market when the pipe bursts.

Monday Recap – 2/2/15

The market looked poised to start the week off on a positive note, but early morning sellers took over after the opening bell.  The $SPY briefly dipped under $198 and traded under $200 for most of the session before a late day surge sent the $SPY to $202.   I don't think a chart accurately conveys the volatility we saw in the market today, with prices falling dramatically before rallying sharply.
