It's that time of year again! My Top 5 Stocks for 2021 Webinar will be out before the year is over. 2020 was a crazy year, and ironically enough, the best year ever for my top 5 stocks as they are up 174.5% on average as I write this:
I say this every year:
"If there is one area in the markets I feel I can truly hang my hat on and call my own, it is finding stocks before the herd - seeing a gem when everyone else sees a dirty rock. Hopefully that continues in 2021. There is nothing like the feeling of stumbling on something big and undiscovered while doing some due diligence. The icing on the cake is seeing it come to fruition."

2020 was the fourth year in a row my Top 5 picks had exceeded my 35% target before the first half of the year was over. Typically I added 5 more stocks for the back half of the year, but the volatility and outsized moves of many names made it difficult.
Have been doing this Webinar since 2014. Here are the top 5 stocks for each year:
2014 : SCTY, MLNX, CBRL, SSYS, ISRG
2015: AMED, SCIF, FEYE, CME, YELP
2016: SSTK, NVRO, RYLP, LNKD, WTW
2017: MB, WIX, RARE, VRNS, SHAK
2018: AYX, AXGN, CVGW, EVH, TRUP
2019: SMAR, CGNX, TITN, YEXT, SSYS
2020: SE, WING, RDFN, CDLX, ZYME
9% of the companies are no longer publicly traded as they have been acquired.
Two of my biggest regrets this year is not adding $FVRR and $PTON to my Top 5 stocks for 2020. FVRR was an easy one to rationalize, as it was not an option-able stock coming into 2020. PTON is a different story. The stock was trading in the high $20s late last year and had numerous short sellers touting its impending doom. I ranted on my 2020 Webinar for 10 minutes on my PTON bull case and even hinted about the name on Twitter while doing my DD:

In the end thought the name was too divisive and took CDLX over it. Live and learn(though CDLX will be a monster again in 2021).
Hoping 2021 can be just as good as 2020 and will have the Webinar out before December 31st, 2020.
