Apple has made a series of lower highs after peaking over a year ago. Tonight their earnings report will dictate, at worse, the short term movement of the stock. It could also have longer term implications.

Today was for the most part an uneventful day, there were no big movers to mention. However, in times like this there is still money to be made. Being able to take advantage of slow days is key for traders as you can many times bring in income to help fund other trades. In the recap I will go over AAPL, NFLX, AMZN, and what levels I will be watching on the SPY for direction.

In this edition of the Hindsight trader blog I am going to go over a few of this week's trades; what I saw in them, why I chose the structure I did, and whether they were successful or not. For the most part this week I focused on selling premium as I anticipated that after the initial gap up this week, volatility will remain low and we will see the market remain in a tight range.
Daily Recap: Analyzing the S&P 500 & Outlook for Tech Names
Another day goes by and the market continues to rally closing right around 2150. Volatility is shrinking and we are seeing strong leadership from the financials and a few tech names as the market continues its accent. For now, I have not added much and will wait until tomorrow near the close or even Thursday to do so. With Wednesday being known for premium crush, given the lack of volatility I felt it was smart to be on the side of caution. Instead I am taking advantage of the aforementioned premium crush by selling premium, which I will go over in the article.
