Mondays in 2015 thus far have proven to be terrible days for the stock market. Stocks started yesterdays session higher, but quickly those gains evaporated and the market closed sharply lower. Today stock futures have reversed course with the market again set to open higher. Will these gains hold?
Here is what I am reading this morning:
Stock futures are recovering from their sharp decline yesterday, which was the fourth straight down day for the markets. 2015 is off to a terrible start, and many think that this is a sign of things to come. A bear market? The talk of one is back again. Last August and October were supposed to be the start of a new bear market.... those calls didn't work out too well. It's a new year, what better time to wipe the slate clean of previous failed market calls than a few days into 2015.
Here is what I am reading this morning:
Good morning! Stocks recovered some of their losses on Friday as sellers took the early morning action and buyers tried to muscle their way back in near the close. It certainly was an interesting day as the US Dollar hit new 9+ year highs and Crude Oil plunged to new 5 Year lows.
Next week should see the excitement resume in the form of 2015's 2nd trading session. Here is what I am reading in the meantime:
Stock futures are trading lower to start the last week of 2014. Seasonality is still working as stocks continue to grind higher. This mornings dip will likely become what every dip since the lows in March 2009 has become.... a great buying opportunity.
