No

Have  your earnings trades been working out?  No.  Trading earnings via the purchase of out of the money short term stock options is a big risk.  There is no telling for sure where the stock will head post earnings.   I've had some great earnings trades in the past and perhaps that is what fuels my passion each earnings season.

Has this been a great earnings season for me?  No.  And its times like these you learn to live again.  And its times like these you give and give again.  And its times likes these you learn to love again.  It's times like these time and time again.  I am a new day rising!

I got a little off 'track', but the point is, if what your doing isn't working it may be time to change, or in this case focus less on earnings and more of what I think I am much better at... a medium - long term perspective of the market.

I was going through some of my thoughts from a few years ago.  $BIDU at $80, $AAPL at $400 (pre-split), my $NUS top call at $140,  $HLF at $78.   A few years ago my comment about $AAPL doubling from $400 was laughed at.  Today the stock sits at $919.73.  I said a few years ago that $AAPL was going to be over $1,000 in two years.   There was not a soul with a similar thought, a target in the same gravitational pull.  Just another $80 to go.  Actually at the time I said $AAPL was going to $1,000 - the brains out in the market were calling $AAPL a dead stock.  Dead money.  The same with $NUS.  Analyst were drooling over the stock.  Today $NUS  has shrunk in price like a Football in the hands of a Patriot ball boy.

Like JB posted and wrote trading out of the money stock options  takes conviction, tremendous knowledge of the market, and the ability to take risks.

Tomorrow is a new day rising.  I am not the perfect trader.  I may slowly be losing hair everyday, but I continue to gain knowledge, grow, and learn.  Knowing your strengths and weaknesses is key to trading.  Lucky for me earnings season is winding down.

The next $NUS, $AAPL, $NFLX, $AMZN is just a new day away.  I can't wait.

I am a one way motorway
I'm the road that drives away
then follows you back home
I am a street light shining
I'm a white light blinding bright
burning off and onit's times like these you learn to live again
it's times like these you give and give again
it's times like these you learn to love again
it's times like these time and time again

I am a new day rising
I'm a brand new sky
to hang the stars upon tonight
I am a little divided
do I stay or run away
and leave it all behind?

it's times like these you learn to live again
it's times like these you give and give again
it's times like these you learn to love again
it's times like these time and time again
