April 2nd, 2024 Watch List

Markets mostly fell on the first trading day of the 2nd quarter, with the S&P closing down .20% while the Nasdaq squeezed out a .11% gain. Asia markets closed higher overnight while Europe indexes are flat this morning. U.S. futures are pointing to another lower open, the Dollar is in the red while Oil, Gold, and Yields are higher.

April 1st, 2024 Watch List

The S&P closed up .36% last week and ended the 1st Q up 10.2% - it's best 1Q performance in 5 years. Asia markets closed mixed overnight while Europe stocks are flat this morning. U.S. futures are pointing to a higher open. The Dollar, Yields, and Gold are higher while Oil is lower.

Markets rallied on Wednesday, with the S&P adding .86%, with most of the gains happening in the last 30 minutes of trading. Asia stocks closed mixed overnight while Europe indexes are in the green this morning. U.S. futures are pointing to a flat open, while the Dollar, Yields, Oil, and Gold are all higher.

March 25th, 2024 Watch List

Futures are pointing to a lower start to this holiday shortened trading week, with S&P futures down .33% as I write this. Asia markets fell overnight while Europe indexes reversed opening gains and are now trading in the red. The US dollar is lower while Yields, Oil, and Gold are higher.

Welcome to the last week for the 1st Q. Markets are closed on Friday for Good Friday so the end of the Q is Thursday. Ironically enough important PCE data will be out Friday morning along with a Powell speech and there are also Fed speakers all week... and this is on the heels of the S&P's best weekly performance since December. There are still some earnings this week including RH and GME:

Europe indexes are also in the red this morning. U.S. futures are pointing to a slightly lower open, the Dollar is higher while Yields, Oil, and Gold are all lower.
