In my typical nature, I was quiet most of last week.  However, I liked what the market was doing, checking my phone at the gym and mumbling to myself "burn baby, burn!".  Disconnected selloffs between large and small caps on September 19th, when the DJIA made its most recent high, and then increasingly broad based and intense selloffs as the previous week progressed.  By September 25th, over 90% of volume on the day was down volume, which typically doesn't happen that often

Yes, everything (excluding the small cap indexes), is flirting with new all-time highs, and the long term trend still appears quite positive.  However, in the short term, the rally looks like it's starting to weaken.

One of the most difficult endeavors for a technician is to analyze IPOs, as these stocks typically don't have historical data to conduct analysis on! However, once the days start to roll on we can get an idea of at least the short term trend of a  relatively new issue.

The spot price of gold approached its late-June 2013 low in the last weeks of December and, surprisingly, bounced.  Does this bounce suggest that a major gold bottom is forming for the beaten-down shiny, yellow metal?
